Honored to have been interviewed by www.webpronews.com about Pinterest business tools! Fun times!
I’m honored to have an article about Emerging Trends In Giving in this month’s Outcomes Magazine – the magazine of the Christian Leadership Alliance. This magazine was the one I published my first ‘real’ article in – back in 2005 – about blogging.
I realize this is off-topic for Marketing On Pinterest, and I hope you’ll forgive me, but I’d love your help on a special project…
In the next week or so I will have the first draft of our new ebook done – Craft Business Power. I’d love to have some of you read it (call it a beta test) for me…
You’ll get an advanced copy, and your job will be to read it and provide honest feedback on the content, copy and overall effort. You can be as candid as you want. Then we’ll take your feedback, improve the book and launch it.
If you’re a Liberty Jane Partner, then you might be familiar with our Start-Up Success Guide. We’ve taken that brief guide, about how to start a craft business, and beefed it up substantially. The plan is to launch it as an ebook published directly to Amazon. It will be available for $2.99, and as part of the Kindle Lending Library, I’ll be able to make it available for free for a few days every so often. Additionally, if you’re part of our membership site, The Cutting Room, then you’ll of course get it for free. So that is the plan.
The book – Craft Business Power – will be less than 15,000 words, whereas Pinterest Power was over 55,000 words, a much bigger project. (As a side-note, my next book-store level book will be Instagram Power being published with McGraw Hill this next year).
Willing to help read it and provide feedback? Just click this link below, provide us with your email, and when it is ready we’ll email you about it:

Yesterday Cinnamon & I invited Pinterest Power book buyers who are also our ‘Liberty Jane Partners’ to join us on a live webinar to talk about Pinterest & the social media efforts at Liberty Jane Clothing. You can listen to the audio here:

Ps. If you haven’t picked up a copy of Pinterest Power yet, then now is your chance… Hurry, before Amazon sells out and starts charging outrageous prices like they do for this book, (which I heard was really good and I’m tempted to buy)!
And hey 2,000 followers is my goal, so…
Oops, they did it again, Pinterest has elegantly rolled out more great resources – this time for businesses.
Here is the list of recent improvements that directly assist marketers:
New Pinterest business tools (<- click that link after you read this article) include:
And you thought they didn’t love marketers! Of course I knew they did already because I read Pinterest Power (more times than you could possibly imagine)… And for Pinterest Power – we interviewed the Pinterest Team – (Yes – that was cool)… and they talked all about the business uses of Pinterest. They are cool people – people, and they are going to make ecommerce cool one day.
(Prediction Section) My guess is that these are the first few steps in what will eventually be the most awesome ecommerce/social media site ever – Pinterest is going to crush it when it comes to social selling.
What should smart marketers do? Start with learning everything you can about this amazing platform. If you haven’t picked up a copy of Pinterest Power yet, then now is your chance… Hurry, before Amazon sells out and starts charging outrageous prices like they do for this book, (which I heard was really good and I’m tempted to buy)!
And hey 2,000 followers is my goal, so…
Cinnamon and I are thrilled to be headed to the Internet Retailers Convention & Exhibit in Chicago this June. I’ll have the privilege of speaking about Pinterest! Make plans to attend and we’ll meet up!
Are you planning a social media conference & need a Pinterest speaker? I’d be happy to work with you – Read more about why I’m a great choice here.
(Random plug for my book) If you haven’t picked up a copy of Pinterest Power yet, then you’re missing out!

We are finally doing our own Pinterest contest for our small business – Liberty Jane Clothing, (after talking about it for over a year). Check it out on Pinterest here, and on our blog here. What are the key elements? Here is a list:
How is it going? After two days, we have the following results:
It ends November 30th, so it will be excited to see how it all turns out. Stay tuned.
If you haven’t picked up a copy of Pinterest Power yet, then you ought to – and read about how ModCloth has used contests extensively to grow their Pinterest profile to over 1 million followers.
And hey 2,000 followers is my goal, so…
Melissa Taylor has 1.4 million Pinterest followers. Wow. I recently had the chance to interview her and discuss her success. When I first met-up with her she ‘only’ had 915,000. In this interview we talk about how she got into Pinterest, what she does routinely, and why she thinks her Pinterest profile is growing so fast. Here is the full transcript:
– – – – –
Q: So tell us a little bit about yourself, your business and your work outside of Pinterest…
A: I’m a former classroom teacher turned freelance writer and education blogger. Currently I blog for myself at ImaginationSoup.net and for clients like Parenting Magazine, AlexToys, and Imagine Toys.
Q: Do you remember the first time you heard about Pinterest? How did that come about?
A: My design and photography blogging friends started talking about their Pinterest addictions. I think it was January 2012 when I decided to see for myself.
Q: How long did it take you to decide, “I need to be in Pinterest” and was that decision difficult to make, or relatively easy?
